Hiding Social Security and credit card information
Millennium sites may have a need to hide sensitive information within the application from certain users. This information can include constituent Social Security numbers, credit card information, phone numbers or anything else that a site feels should be hidden from regular users. This can be accomplished in Millennium version 7.2.2 through 7.3.1 using a feature within User Security called View Generator. View Generator enables administrators to create customized user views of Millennium tables. Customized views can then be assigned to specific groups through the Group Maintenance feature within User Security.
Article #123303 is a recent addition to the Knowledgebase that contains detailed instructions on creating a customized view to mask Social Security numbers using View Generator in Millennium versions 7.3 and 7.3.1. A similar procedure can be used for 7.2.2, but the script must be altered to account for the different corebio table structure in 7.2.2. This method can also be altered and applied to other tables, allowing sites to create customized views that mask credit card numbers or any other sensitive information within Millennium.
