When Linda Wilbourne landed at Cancer Care Services, she was overwhelmed with the volume of work to be done. Her title at Cancer Care Services is Office Manager, but she often wears more hats than she can count! Learning a new accounting software system was not the way she wanted to spend her time because the quality care and best interest of the organization's clients are her first priority.
"I was working many, many hours just to get the bills paid, and I didn't have time to figure out a new system," Linda said. "Thank goodness for the simplicity and straight-forwardness of Sage Software's Sage MIP Fund Accounting. It was a lifesaver!" she said.
Linda had only one day to spend with the previous employee, and this lack of training made her job all the more difficult. She was very grateful that NPS is extremely user-friendly since there really wasn't anyone from Cancer Care Services that could assist her in getting up to speed with the system.
"The support from Sage Software's Customer Support team is truly excellent," Linda said. "They are very patient and kind, in addition to being extremely helpful. Without their help, it would have taken me so many more hours and a great deal of frustration to getting my accounting system running smoothly," she added.
With NPS, her accounting responsibilities were the least of her worries as the new office manager for this booming organization. "Cancer Care Services is growing so fast. We have almost doubled since I came on-board last May. Sage Software has helped because NPS has given me more time to spend on the many things that need to be done, things that are brand new to me," Linda said.
The mission of Cancer Care Services is to provide financial, emotional and social assistance to under-served cancer patients and their families.
CANCER CARE SERVICES
Since 1946, Cancer Care Services has been dedicated to providing services to under-served cancer patients and their families while undergoing treatment. From emotional support and counseling to treatment related needs, Cancer Care Services works within a network of community agencies and medical suppliers to provide patients with the help they need. That means extra reassurance to cancer patients and their families during a difficult time.
Most services provided by Cancer Care Services are made available at no charge to our clients. Services are determined by the recommendations of the treating physician and Cancer Care Services social workers. The level of services provided are based on a sliding scale determined by each patient's individual circumstances and needs. Counseling, case management and support groups are available to any cancer patient regardless of income at no charge.
The financial support of local foundations, businesses, individuals, and United Way give Cancer Care Services the means to serve cancer patients. Cancer Care Services receives no government funds or insurance reimbursements.
